"In an article recently published in Canadian Government Executive (Vol. 23, No. 1, January 2017), Robert Lahey, founding Head of Canada’s Centre of Excellence for Evaluation and member of the Canadian Evaluation Society’s (CES) Credentialing Board, examines the concept of deliverology in the Canadian context, including how to connect deliverology to evaluation, measuring and using results. Given Canada’s lengthy experience with monitoring, evaluation and results-based management, Lahey provides some considerations for the practical implementation of deliverology in this context. These considerations include, for example, working within the current monitoring and evaluation infrastructure to find the right balance between learning and accountability, and the need for collaboration and coordination between the Results and Delivery Unit at the Privy Council Office and Treasury Board Secretariat (responsible for the Policy on Results) to align and streamline measurement and reporting requirements."
