Public Policy Ethics

Public ethics has become a significant issue for national governments and international organizations such as the OECD and the UN. In this context, it is relevant to question the ethical infrastructures aimed at framing public policy. The work conducted in the framework of this research axis examines this type of infrastructure, including the reasons behind its implementation, how it is laid out, how it works, and its effectiveness.

Ethical issues also occupy a growing place in the field of program and policy evaluation. To look into evaluation ethics is to examine not only the limits of evaluation as a discipline and emerging profession but also “good conduct” worth adopting, as well as the credibility, the impartiality, the transparency, and the legitimacy of the evaluative process. Despite a series of studies on this topic, scientific research on ethics and evaluation remains embryonic and incomplete. The work conducted in the framework of this research axis aims to pursue and consolidate research on this theme from a theoretical and empirical point of view.
